XXVI niedziela zwykła

(Mt 21, 28-32)

Jezus powiedział do arcykapłanów i starszych ludu: "Co myślicie? Pewien człowiek miał dwóch synów. Zwrócił się do pierwszego i rzekł: „Dziecko, idź i pracuj dzisiaj w winnicy”. Ten odpowiedział: „Idę, panie!”, lecz nie poszedł. Zwrócił się do drugiego i to samo powiedział. Ten odparł: „Nie chcę”. Później jednak opamiętał się i poszedł. Który z tych dwóch spełnił wolę ojca?" Mówią Mu: "Ten drugi". Wtedy Jezus rzekł do nich: "Zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Celnicy i nierządnice wchodzą przed wami do królestwa niebieskiego. Przyszedł bowiem do was Jan drogą sprawiedliwości, a wy mu nie uwierzyliście. Uwierzyli mu zaś celnicy i nierządnice. Wy patrzyliście na to, ale nawet później nie opamiętaliście się, żeby mu uwierzyć".

Matthew 21:28-32
At that time: Jesus said to the chief priests and the elders of the people, ‘What do you think? A man had two sons. And he went to the first and said, “Son, go and work in the vineyard today.” And he answered, “I will not”, but afterwards he changed his mind and went. And he went to the other son and said the same. And he answered, “I go, sir”, but did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?’ They said, ‘The first.’ Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. And even when you saw it, you did not afterwards change your minds and believe him.’

Sobota XXIV tygodnia zwykłego

(Łk 9, 43b-45)

Gdy wszyscy pełni byli podziwu dla wszystkich czynów Jezusa, On powiedział do swoich uczniów: "Weźcie wy sobie dobrze do serca te słowa: Syn Człowieczy będzie wydany w ręce ludzi". Lecz oni nie rozumieli tego powiedzenia; było ono zakryte przed nimi, tak że go nie pojęli, a bali się zapytać Go o to powiedzenie.

Piątek XXV tygodnia okresu zwykłego

(Łk 9, 18-22)

Gdy raz Jezus modlił się na osobności, a byli z Nim uczniowie, zwrócił się do nich z zapytaniem: "Za kogo uważają Mnie tłumy?" Oni odpowiedzieli: "Za Jana Chrzciciela; inni za Eliasza; jeszcze inni mówią, że któryś z dawnych proroków zmartwychwstał". Zapytał ich: "A wy za kogo Mnie uważacie?" Piotr odpowiedział: "Za Mesjasza Bożego". Wtedy surowo im przykazał i napomniał ich, żeby nikomu o tym nie mówili. I dodał: "Syn Człowieczy musi wiele wycierpieć: będzie odrzucony przez starszyznę, arcykapłanów i uczonych w Piśmie; zostanie zabity, a trzeciego dnia zmartwychwstanie".

Once when Jesus was praying in solitude, and the disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” They said in reply, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, ‘One of the ancient prophets has arisen.’” Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter said in reply, “The Christ of God.” He rebuked them and directed them not to tell this to anyone. He said, “The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised.”

Czwartek XXV tygodnia okresu zwykłego

(Łk 9, 7-9)

Tetrarcha Herod posłyszał o wszystkich cudach zdziałanych przez Chrystusa i był zaniepokojony. Niektórzy bowiem mówili, że Jan powstał z martwych; inni, że zjawił się Eliasz; jeszcze inni, że któryś z dawnych proroków zmartwychwstał. A Herod mówił: "Jana kazałem ściąć. Któż więc jest ten, o którym takie rzeczy słyszę?" I starał się Go zobaczyć.

Luke 9:7-9

Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was greatly perplexed because some were saying, “John has been raised from the dead”; others were saying, “Elijah has appeared”; still others, “One of the ancient prophets has arisen.” But Herod said, “John I beheaded. Who then is this about whom I hear such things?” And he kept trying to see him.

Środa XXV tygodnia okresu zwykłego

(Łk 9, 1-6)

Jezus zwołał Dwunastu, dał im moc i władzę nad wszystkimi złymi duchami oraz władzę leczenia chorób. I wysłał ich, aby głosili królestwo Boże i uzdrawiali chorych. Mówił do nich: "Nie bierzcie nic na drogę: ani laski, ani torby podróżnej, ani chleba, ani pieniędzy; nie miejcie też po dwie suknie. Gdy do jakiegoś domu wejdziecie, pozostańcie tam i stamtąd będziecie wychodzić. Jeśliby was gdzieś nie przyjęli, wychodząc z tego miasta, strząśnijcie proch z nóg waszych na świadectwo przeciwko nim!" Wyszli więc i chodzili po wsiach, głosząc Ewangelię i uzdrawiając wszędzie.

At that time: Jesus called the Twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal. And he said to them, ‘Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics. And whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.’ And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

Wtorek XXV tygodnia okresu zwykłego

(Łk 8, 19-21)

Przyszli do Jezusa Jego Matka i bracia, lecz nie mogli dostać się do Niego z powodu tłumu. Oznajmiono Mu: "Twoja Matka i bracia stoją na dworze i chcą się widzieć z Tobą". Lecz On im odpowiedział: "Moją matką i moimi braćmi są ci, którzy słuchają słowa Bożego i wypełniają je".

Luke 8:19-21

At that time: His mother and his brothers and sisters came to Jesus, but they could not reach him because of the crowd. And he was told, ‘Your mother and your brothers and sisters are standing outside, desiring to see you.’ But he answered them, ‘My mother and my brothers and sisters are those who hear the word of God and do it.’

Święto świętego Mateusza, apostoła i ewangelisty

(Mt 9, 9-13)

Odchodząc z Kafarnaum Jezus ujrzał człowieka siedzącego w komorze celnej, imieniem Mateusz, i rzekł do niego: „Pójdź za Mną”. On wstał i poszedł za Nim. Gdy Jezus siedział w domu za stołem, przyszło wielu celników i grzeszników i siedzieli wraz z Jezusem i Jego uczniami. Widząc to faryzeusze, mówili do Jego uczniów: „Dlaczego wasz Nauczyciel jada wspólnie z celnikami i grzesznikami?” On, usłyszawszy to, rzekł: „Nie potrzebują lekarza zdrowi, lecz ci, którzy się źle mają. Idźcie i starajcie się zrozumieć, co znaczy: "Chcę raczej miłosierdzia niż ofiary". Bo nie przyszedłem powołać sprawiedliwych, ale grzeszników”.

Matthew 9:9-13

At that time: As Jesus passed on from Capernaum, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth, and he said to him, ‘Follow me.’ And he rose and followed him. And as Jesus reclined at table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were reclining with Jesus and his disciples. And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, ‘Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?’ But when he heard it, he said, ‘Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means: “I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.” For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.

XXV niedziela zwykła

(Mt 20, 1-16a)

Jezus opowiedział swoim uczniom następującą przypowieść: "Królestwo niebieskie podobne jest do gospodarza, który wyszedł wczesnym rankiem, aby nająć robotników do swej winnicy. Umówił się z robotnikami o denara za dzień i posłał ich do winnicy. Gdy wyszedł około godziny trzeciej, zobaczył innych, stojących na rynku bezczynnie, i rzekł do nich: „Idźcie i wy do mojej winnicy, a co będzie słuszne, dam wam”. Oni poszli. Wyszedłszy ponownie około godziny szóstej i dziewiątej, tak samo uczynił. Gdy wyszedł około godziny jedenastej, spotkał innych stojących i zapytał ich: „Czemu tu stoicie cały dzień bezczynnie?” Odpowiedzieli mu: „Bo nas nikt nie najął”. Rzekł im: „Idźcie i wy do winnicy”. A gdy nadszedł wieczór, rzekł właściciel winnicy do swego rządcy: „Zwołaj robotników i wypłać im należność, począwszy od ostatnich aż do pierwszych”. Przyszli najęci około jedenastej godziny i otrzymali po denarze. Gdy więc przyszli pierwsi, myśleli, że więcej dostaną; lecz i oni otrzymali po denarze. Wziąwszy go, szemrali przeciw gospodarzowi, mówiąc: „Ci ostatni jedną godzinę pracowali, a zrównałeś ich z nami, którzy znosiliśmy ciężar dnia i spiekotę”. Na to odrzekł jednemu z nich: „Przyjacielu, nie czynię ci krzywdy; czyż nie o denara umówiłeś się ze mną? Weź, co twoje, i odejdź. Chcę też i temu ostatniemu dać tak samo jak tobie. Czy mi nie wolno uczynić ze swoim, co chcę? Czy na to złym okiem patrzysz, że ja jestem dobry?” Tak ostatni będą pierwszymi, a pierwsi ostatnimi".

Matthew 20:1-16

At that time: Jesus told his disciples this parable, ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house who went out early in the morning to hire labourers for his vineyard. After agreeing with the labourers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And going out about the third hour he saw others standing idle in the market-place, and to them he said, “You go into the vineyard too, and whatever is right I will give you.” So they went. Going out again about the sixth hour and the ninth hour, he did the same. And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing. And he said to them, “Why do you stand here idle all day?” They said to him, “Because no one has hired us.” He said to them, “You go into the vineyard too.” 'And when evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, “Call the labourers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last, up to the first.” And when those hired about the eleventh hour came, each of them received a denarius. Now when those hired first came, they thought they would receive more, but each of them also received a denarius. And on receiving it they grumbled at the master of the house, saying, “These last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.” But he replied to one of them, “Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? Take what belongs to you and go. I choose to give to this last worker as I give to you. Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?” So the last will be first, and the first last.’

Sobota XXIV tygodnia zwykłego

(Łk 8, 4-15)

Gdy zebrał się wielki tłum i z poszczególnych miast przychodzili do Jezusa, opowiedział im przypowieść: "Siewca wyszedł siać swoje ziarno. A gdy siał, jedno padło na drogę i zostało podeptane, a ptaki podniebne wydziobały je. Inne padło na skałę i gdy wzeszło, uschło, bo nie miało wilgoci. Inne znowu padło między ciernie, a ciernie razem z nim wyrosły i zagłuszyły je. Inne w końcu padło na ziemię żyzną i gdy wzrosło, wydało plon stokrotny". To mówiąc, wołał: "Kto ma uszy do słuchania, niechaj słucha!" Pytali Go więc Jego uczniowie, co oznacza ta przypowieść. On rzekł: "Wam dano poznać wprost tajemnice królestwa Bożego, innym zaś w przypowieściach, „aby patrząc, nie widzieli, i słuchając, nie rozumieli”. Takie jest znaczenie przypowieści: Ziarnem jest słowo Boże. Tymi zaś na drodze są ci, którzy słuchają słowa; potem przychodzi diabeł i zabiera słowo z ich serca, żeby nie uwierzyli i nie byli zbawieni. Na skałę pada u tych, którzy gdy usłyszą, z radością przyjmują słowo, lecz nie mają korzenia: wierzą do czasu, a w chwili pokusy odstępują. To, które padło między ciernie, oznacza tych, którzy słuchają słowa, lecz potem odchodzą, a zagłuszeni przez troski, bogactwa i rozkosze życia, nie wydają owocu.Wreszcie ziarno w żyznej ziemi oznacza tych, którzy wysłuchawszy słowa sercem szlachetnym i dobrym, zatrzymują je i wydają owoc dzięki wytrwałości".

Luke 8:4-15

At that time: When a great crowd was gathering and people from town after town came to him, Jesus said in a parable, ‘A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell along the path and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air devoured it. And some fell on the rock, and as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it. And some fell into good soil, and grew, and yielded a hundredfold.’ As he said these things, he called out, ‘He who has ears to hear, let him hear.’ And when his disciples asked him what this parable meant, he said, ‘To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so that “seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand”. Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away. And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature. As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.’

Święto św. Stanisława Kostki, zakonnika

(Łk 2, 41-52)

Rodzice Jezusa chodzili co roku do Jerozolimy na Święto Paschy. Gdy miał On lat dwanaście, udali się tam zwyczajem świątecznym. Kiedy wracali po skończonych uroczystościach, został Jezus w Jerozolimie, a tego nie zauważyli Jego Rodzice. Przypuszczając, że jest w towarzystwie pątników, uszli dzień drogi i szukali Go wśród krewnych i znajomych. Gdy Go nie znaleźli, wrócili do Jerozolimy szukając Go. Dopiero po trzech dniach odnaleźli Go w świątyni, gdzie siedział między nauczycielami, przysłuchiwał się im i zadawał pytania. Wszyscy zaś, którzy Go słuchali, byli zdumieni bystrością Jego umysłu i odpowiedziami. Na ten widok zdziwili się bardzo, a Jego Matka rzekła do Niego: "Synu, czemuś nam to uczynił? Oto ojciec Twój i ja z bólem serca szukaliśmy Ciebie". Lecz On im odpowiedział: "Czemuście Mnie szukali? Czy nie wiedzieliście, że powinienem być w tym, co należy do mego Ojca?" Oni jednak nie zrozumieli tego, co im powiedział. Potem poszedł z nimi i wrócił do Nazaretu; i był im poddany. A Matka Jego chowała wiernie wszystkie te wspomnienia w swym sercu. Jezus zaś czynił postępy w mądrości, w latach i w łasce u Boga i u ludzi.

Luke 2:41-52

Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.” “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”[a] But they did not understand what he was saying to them. Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

Czwartek XXIV tygodnia zwykłego

(Łk 7, 36-50)

Jeden z faryzeuszów zaprosił Jezusa do siebie na posiłek. Wszedł więc do domu faryzeusza i zajął miejsce za stołem. A oto kobieta, która prowadziła w mieście życie grzeszne, dowiedziawszy się, że gości w domu faryzeusza, przyniosła flakonik alabastrowy olejku i stanąwszy z tyłu u Jego stóp, płacząc, zaczęła łzami oblewać Jego stopy i włosami swej głowy je wycierała. Potem całowała Jego stopy i namaszczała je olejkiem. Widząc to, faryzeusz, który Go zaprosił, mówił sam do siebie: "Gdyby On był prorokiem, wiedziałby, co to za jedna i jaka to jest ta kobieta, która się Go dotyka, że jest grzesznicą". Na to Jezus rzekł do niego: "Szymonie, mam ci coś do powiedzenia". On rzekł: "Powiedz, Nauczycielu". "Pewien wierzyciel miał dwóch dłużników. Jeden winien mu był pięćset denarów, a drugi pięćdziesiąt. Gdy nie mieli z czego oddać, darował obydwom. Który z nich więc będzie go bardziej miłował?" Szymon odpowiedział: "Przypuszczam, że ten, któremu więcej darował". On zaś mu rzekł: "Słusznie osądziłeś". Potem, zwróciwszy się w stronę kobiety, rzekł do Szymona: "Widzisz tę kobietę? Wszedłem do twego domu, a nie podałeś Mi wody do nóg; ona zaś łzami oblała mi stopy i otarła je swymi włosami. Nie powitałeś mnie pocałunkiem; a ona, odkąd wszedłem, nie przestała całować stóp moich. Głowy nie namaściłeś Mi oliwą; ona zaś olejkiem namaściła moje stopy. Dlatego powiadam ci: Odpuszczone są jej liczne grzechy, ponieważ bardzo umiłowała. A ten, komu mało się odpuszcza, mało miłuje". Do niej zaś rzekł: "Odpuszczone są twoje grzechy". Na to współbiesiadnicy zaczęli mówić sami do siebie: "Któż On jest, że nawet grzechy odpuszcza?" On zaś rzekł do kobiety: "Twoja wiara cię ocaliła, idź w pokoju".

Luke 7:36-50

At that time: One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to eat with him, and he went into the Pharisee’s house and reclined at table. And behold, a woman of the city, who was a sinner, when she learned that he was reclining at table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment, and standing behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, ‘If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner.’ And Jesus answering said to him, ‘Simon, I have something to say to you.’ And he answered, ‘Say it, Teacher.’ ‘A certain moneylender had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. When they could not pay, he cancelled the debt of both. Now which of them will love him more?’ Simon answered, ‘The one, I suppose, for whom he cancelled the larger debt.’ And he said to him, ‘You have judged rightly.’ Then turning towards the woman he said to Simon, ‘Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You gave me no kiss, but from the time I came in she has not ceased to kiss my feet. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven — for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.’ And he said to her, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’ Then those who were at table with him began to say among themselves, ‘Who is this, who even forgives sins?’ And he said to the woman, ‘Your faith has saved you; go in peace.’

Środa XXIV tygodnia zwykłego

(Łk 7, 31-35)

Jezus powiedział do tłumów: "Z kim mam porównać ludzi tego pokolenia? Do kogo są podobni? Podobni są do dzieci przesiadujących na rynku, które głośno przymawiają jedne drugim: „Przygrywaliśmy wam, a nie tańczyliście; biadaliśmy, a wy nie płakaliście”. Przyszedł bowiem Jan Chrzciciel: nie jadł chleba i nie pił wina; a wy mówicie: „Zły duch go opętał”. Przyszedł Syn Człowieczy: je i pije; a wy mówicie: „Oto żarłok i pijak, przyjaciel celników i grzeszników”. A jednak wszystkie dzieci mądrości przyznały jej słuszność".

Luke 7:31-35

At that time: Jesus said, ‘To what then shall I compare the people of this generation, and what are they like? They are like children sitting in the market-place and calling to one another, “We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not weep.” ‘For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine, and you say, “He has a demon.” The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, “Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!” Yet wisdom is justified by all her children.’

Wspomnienie Najświętszej Maryi Panny Bolesnej

(J 19, 25-27)

Obok krzyża Jezusowego stały: Matka Jego i siostra Matki Jego, Maria, żona Kleofasa, i Maria Magdalena. Kiedy więc Jezus ujrzał Matkę i stojącego obok Niej ucznia, którego miłował, rzekł do Matki: "Niewiasto, oto syn Twój". Następnie rzekł do ucznia: "Oto Matka twoja". I od tej godziny uczeń wziął Ją do siebie.

John 19:25-27

At that time: Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, behold, your son!’ Then he said to the disciple, ‘Behold, your mother!’ And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.

Święto Podwyższenia Krzyża Świętego

(J 3,13-17)

Jezus powiedział do Nikodema: „Nikt nie wstąpił do nieba, oprócz Tego, który z nieba zstąpił, Syna Człowieczego. A jak Mojżesz wywyższył węża na pustyni, tak potrzeba, by wywyższono Syna Człowieczego, aby każdy, kto w Niego wierzy, miał życie wieczne. Tak bowiem Bóg umiłował świat, że Syna swego Jednorodzonego dał, aby każdy, kto w Niego wierzy, nie zginął, ale miał życie wieczne. Albowiem Bóg nie posłał swego Syna na świat po to, aby świat potępił, ale po to, by świat został przez Niego zbawiony”.

John 3:13-17

At that time: Jesus said to Nicodemus, ‘No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. XXIV niedziela zwykła

(Mt 18, 21-35)

Piotr podszedł do Jezusa i zapytał: "Panie, ile razy mam przebaczyć, jeśli mój brat zawini względem mnie? Czy aż siedem razy?" Jezus mu odrzekł: "Nie mówię ci, że aż siedem razy, lecz aż siedemdziesiąt siedem razy. Dlatego podobne jest królestwo niebieskie do króla, który chciał się rozliczyć ze swymi sługami. Gdy zaczął się rozliczać, przyprowadzono mu jednego, który był mu winien dziesięć tysięcy talentów. Ponieważ nie miał z czego ich oddać, pan kazał sprzedać go razem z żoną, dziećmi i całym jego mieniem, aby dług w ten sposób odzyskać. On jednak nie chciał, lecz poszedł i wtrącił go do więzienia, dopóki nie odda długu. Współsłudzy jego, widząc, co się działo, bardzo się zasmucili. Poszli i opowiedzieli swemu panu wszystko, co zaszło. Wtedy pan jego, wezwawszy go, rzekł mu: „Sługo niegodziwy! Darowałem ci cały ten dług, ponieważ mnie prosiłeś. Czyż więc i ty nie powinieneś był ulitować się nad swoim współsługą, jak ja ulitowałem się nad tobą?” I uniósłszy się gniewem, pan jego kazał wydać go katom, dopóki mu nie odda całego długu. Podobnie uczyni wam Ojciec mój niebieski, jeżeli każdy z was nie przebaczy z serca swemu bratu".

Matthew 18:21-35

As many as seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven. ‘Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants. When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. And since he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. So the servant fell on his knees, imploring him, “Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.” And out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him and forgave him the debt. But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii, and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, “Pay what you owe.” So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him, “Have patience with me, and I will pay you.” He refused and went and put him in prison until he should pay the debt. When his fellow servants saw what had taken place they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place. Then his master summoned him and said to him, “You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?” And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt. So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.’

Sobota XXIII tygodnia zwykłego

(Łk 6, 43-49)

Jezus powiedział do swoich uczniów: "Nie ma drzewa dobrego, które by wydawało zły owoc, ani też drzewa złego, które by dobry owoc wydawało. Po własnym owocu bowiem poznaje się każde drzewo; nie zrywa się fig z ciernia, ani z krzaka jeżyny nie zbiera się winogron. Dobry człowiek z dobrego skarbca swego serca wydobywa dobro, a zły człowiek ze złego skarbca wydobywa zło. Bo z obfitości serca mówią jego usta. Czemu to wzywacie Mnie: „Panie, Panie!”, a nie czynicie tego, co mówię? Pokażę wam, do kogo podobny jest każdy, kto przychodzi do Mnie, słucha słów moich i wypełnia je. Podobny jest do człowieka, który buduje dom: wkopał się głęboko i fundament założył na skale. Gdy przyszła powódź, wezbrana rzeka uderzyła w ten dom, ale nie zdołała go naruszyć, ponieważ był dobrze zbudowany. Lecz ten, kto usłyszał, a nie wypełnił, podobny jest do człowieka, który zbudował dom na ziemi bez fundamentu. Gdy rzeka uderzyła w niego, od razu runął, a ruina owego domu była wielka".

Luke 6:43-49

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, ‘No good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. ‘Why do you call me “Lord, Lord”, and not do what I tell you? Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.’

(Łk 6, 39-42)

Jezus opowiedział uczniom przypowieść: "Czy może niewidomy prowadzić niewidomego? Czy nie wpadną w dół obydwaj? Uczeń nie przewyższa nauczyciela. Lecz każdy, dopiero w pełni wykształcony, będzie jak jego nauczyciel. Czemu to widzisz drzazgę w oku swego brata, a nie dostrzegasz belki we własnym oku? Jak możesz mówić swemu bratu: „Bracie, pozwól, że usunę drzazgę, która jest w twoim oku”, podczas gdy sam belki w swoim oku nie widzisz? Obłudniku, usuń najpierw belkę ze swego oka, a wtedy przejrzysz, ażeby usunąć drzazgę z oka brata swego".

Luke 6:39-42

At that time: Jesus told his disciples a parable: ‘Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone, when he is fully trained, will be like his teacher. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, “Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye”, when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye.’

Jezus powiedział do swoich uczniów: "Powiadam wam, którzy słuchacie: Miłujcie waszych nieprzyjaciół; dobrze czyńcie tym, którzy was nienawidzą; błogosławcie tym, którzy was przeklinają, i módlcie się za tych, którzy was oczerniają. Jeśli cię kto uderzy w policzek, nadstaw mu i drugi. Jeśli zabiera ci płaszcz, nie broń mu i szaty. Dawaj każdemu, kto cię prosi, a nie dopominaj się zwrotu od tego, który bierze twoje. Jak chcecie, żeby ludzie wam czynili, podobnie wy im czyńcie. Jeśli bowiem miłujecie tych tylko, którzy was miłują, jakaż za to należy się wam wdzięczność? Przecież i grzesznicy okazują miłość tym, którzy ich miłują. I jeśli dobrze czynicie tym tylko, którzy wam dobrze czynią, jaka za to należy się wam wdzięczność? I grzesznicy to samo czynią. Jeśli pożyczek udzielacie tym, od których spodziewacie się zwrotu, jakaż za to należy się wam wdzięczność? I grzesznicy pożyczają grzesznikom, żeby tyleż samo otrzymać. Wy natomiast miłujcie waszych nieprzyjaciół, czyńcie dobrze i pożyczajcie, niczego się za to nie spodziewając. A wasza nagroda będzie wielka i będziecie synami Najwyższego; ponieważ On jest dobry dla niewdzięcznych i złych. Bądźcie miłosierni, jak Ojciec wasz jest miłosierny. Nie sądźcie, a nie będziecie sądzeni; nie potępiajcie, a nie będziecie potępieni; odpuszczajcie, a będzie wam odpuszczone. Dawajcie, a będzie wam dane; miarę dobrą, ubitą, utrzęsioną i wypełnioną ponad brzegi wsypią w zanadrza wasze. Odmierzą wam bowiem taką miarą, jaką wy mierzycie".

Luke 6:27-38

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, ‘I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who begs from you; and from one who takes away your goods, do not demand them back. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them. ‘If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. ‘Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven. Jezus podniósł oczy na swoich uczniów i mówił: "Błogosławieni jesteście, ubodzy, albowiem do was należy królestwo Boże. Błogosławieni, którzy teraz głodujecie, albowiem będziecie nasyceni. Błogosławieni, którzy teraz płaczecie, albowiem śmiać się będziecie. Błogosławieni jesteście, gdy ludzie was znienawidzą i gdy was wyłączą spośród siebie, gdy zelżą was i z powodu Syna Człowieczego odrzucą z pogardą wasze imię jako niecne: cieszcie się i radujcie w owym dniu, bo wielka jest wasza nagroda w niebie. Tak samo bowiem przodkowie ich czynili prorokom. Natomiast biada wam, bogaczom, bo odebraliście już pociechę waszą. Biada wam, którzy teraz jesteście syci, albowiem głód cierpieć będziecie. Biada wam, którzy się teraz śmiejecie, albowiem smucić się i płakać będziecie. Biada wam, gdy wszyscy ludzie chwalić was będą. Tak samo bowiem przodkowie ich czynili fałszywym prorokom".

Rodowód Jezusa Chrystusa, syna Dawida, syna Abrahama. Abraham był ojcem Izaaka; Izaak ojcem Jakuba; Jakub ojcem Judy i jego braci; Juda zaś był ojcem Faresa i Zary, których matką była Tamar. Fares był ojcem Ezrona; Ezron ojcem Arama; Aram ojcem Aminadaba; Aminadab ojcem Naassona; Naasson ojcem Salmona; Salmon ojcem Booza, a matką była Rachab. Booz był ojcem Obeda, a matką była Rut. Obed był ojcem Jessego, a Jesse ojcem króla Dawida. Dawid był ojcem Salomona, a matką była dawna żona Uriasza. Z narodzeniem Jezusa Chrystusa było tak. Po zaślubinach Matki Jego, Maryi, z Józefem, wpierw nim zamieszkali razem, znalazła się brzemienną za sprawą Ducha Świętego. Mąż Jej, Józef, który był człowiekiem sprawiedliwym i nie chciał narazić Jej na zniesławienie, zamierzał oddalić Ją potajemnie. Gdy powziął tę myśl, oto anioł Pański ukazał mu się we śnie i rzekł: "Józefie, synu Dawida, nie bój się wziąć do siebie Maryi, twej Małżonki; albowiem z Ducha Świętego jest to, co się w Niej poczęło. Porodzi Syna, któremu nadasz imię Jezus, On bowiem zbawi swój lud od jego grzechów". A stało się to wszystko, aby się wypełniło słowo Pańskie powiedziane przez Proroka: "Oto Dziewica pocznie i porodzi Syna, któremu nadadzą imię Emmanuel", to znaczy: "Bóg z nami".
